North Carolina Summit on US/China Education

The North Carolina Summit on US/China Education was launched by the Friday Institute at NC State University and other educational partners in 2008 when the North Carolina State Board of Education signed an agreement with Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education in China to increase collaboration. Since the initial launch, the Summit is organized every two years for North Carolina education, government and business leaders to continue to cultivate partnerships that advance cross-cultural understandings and collaborations and meet the growing demand of Chinese language in North Carolina.

The Summit is organized by the Friday Institute at North Carolina State University, Confucius Institute at North Carolina State University, Go Global NC, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the North Carolina State Board of Education.

Each Summit is hosted by a rotating member of the organizers:

  • 2008: New Literacies Collaborative at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation
  • 2010: North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
